| We are currently looking for helpful individuals who have a passion for manga and would like to contribute to MAL's manga database. All manga moderator positions are voluntary. A manga moderator's duties include, but are not limited to:
If you feel you have the time and motivation to perform these duties on a regular basis, you may apply for a manga moderator position by completing a five-step application. Part A: New Manga Addition Submit a manga entry that we do not currently have in our database via the add manga link. This may be an old title or a new title. Make sure to add "Manga mod app" in the More Info section. Part B: Spot the Errors Find as many errors as possible on the following fake manga additions. Part C: Entry Eligibility Please answer the following questions. Part D: Information Searching Please try to find the information for the following questions, to the best of your ability. If you are unable to find the answer, please indicate what you attempted to search. Don't worry if you're not able to find the information for each question. Part E: Send in Your Application Send me a PM including the following:
This procedure doubles as an application and a teaching tool. It is meant to give potential moderators some experience with things they will need to face in the future. There is often no better way to learn than having hands-on training. Please feel free to PM me with any questions regarding the application, manga moderator duties or Manga DB Guidelines. As this is a teaching tool, you will not be docked points for asking questions; however, the type of questions you ask will be considered along with your application. We want manga moderators who are confident in what they do, but who are also not afraid to ask when they aren't sure of the answers. | There's definitely a lack of manga mods right now. That said, I'm gonna pass on this. The workload scares me and I'm not confident in my knowledge of the database guidelines and doing research on the details. I'm also busy IRL as it is. I'm just gonna do my part and just submit characters and character relations with some reports on entries here and there on both anime and manga. Good luck to the applicants. |

| I wonder how many minor parts, if any, can the one sending in an application get wrong to be still accepted to the team/proceed to the next round. Skimming through the exam a little, it certainly requires one to know what he/she is doing. If nothing else, the work done to complete the exercises can serve as good practice for sometime when the position is open once you do meet the minimum age requirements. |
