Luxen's TeamDX ruleset
TeamDX - The Team Deathmatch events hosted every two Saturdays 22:00EST (2:00GMT) by Luxen De'Mark - follow these rules, which are listed below:
1) Any rule or gameplan change must be agreed upon by all team captains present. Any following rules can be changed by this exception.
2) Spectators should use an ec88/89 to watch matches. They should remain beyond 1km from the fighting, and not interfere in the outcome.
3) Disrupting behavior from Spectators or from Combatants before the match or during it can result in the match being considered forfeit.
4) Capital ships may only be used if both teams supply them. Each present team must have an equal number of capital ships. Capital ship pilots may not undock from their capital ship.
5) Furies or similar NPC support are expressly forbidden from TeamDX.
6)No one may repair other pilots during the match, unless that pilot is repairing a team mate. Team members may be repaired by other team members. If capital ships are available per rule 4, pilots may repair and reload in their team's capital ship.
7) If two pilots wish to be pilot and gunner on a turreted ship, they must both be chosen for the same team - if both pilots are chosen for opposing teams, they will have to use their own ships.
8) Turrets on capital ships may be used by any member on the same team.
9) Team Captains are selected based on the highest combat liscence. Pilots can "opt-out" if they wish not to captain.
10) The sector chosen for a TeamDX match must be empty of enemy hive, npcs, or ctc bots. The sector chosen must be in the same system as the original gathering place (which ~should~ be listed at least 48 hours before the match).
11) TU mines and Avalons are expressly forbidden from TeamDX matches.
12) Matches begin when both team captains acknowledge that their teams are ready and the countdown finishes. the countdown is, in sector chat, 5 down to 1 and then a honk.
13) If a prize pot is available (per special event or from donations), it will be split up evenly among the winning team for the match that prize pot is valid for. Donors can pick which match. if a selected match isnt held, the donation goes to the last match held.
14) Team members are alternatively chosen by Team Captains.
15) Teams must have a minimum of 3 members.
16) All teams must have an equal number of players. if the teams would be uneven, someone will have to sit the match out.
17) Teams may only have a maximum of 8 members, and must be grouped together.
18) Should a pilot afk before a match, they may be removed from their team. teams will rebalance if neccesary.
19) If a pilot afk's during a match and dies, it is considered a normal kill.
20) All pilots should begin a match with 100% hull armor.
21) If a pilot attacks before a match begins, then the match is delayed while all affected pilots repair.
22) Teams must be seperated by at least 1km of space, unless a special map is used (example: Sedina H9, the Thunderbowl).
23) A team is only valid for 1 match, unless all teams agree and no new participants have arrived, or old participants have left.
24) If a pilot wishes to use a special sector or ruleset, they should contact the TeamDX hoster at least 1 week before the planned match.
25) The hoster of TeamDX is responsible for sector selection and special rules. Team Captains may change general rules and select teams.
26) If you crash during a match, you are technically "killed". leave the sector and come back to spectate.
27) Have a fun freiken time!

Crazy! I've always said that the best tournaments have 26 rules that can be changed at anytime by leader consensus.
THE FIRST RULE OF TEAMDX IS YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT TEAMDX!
EMS may not repair any participants during the match, unless the EMS pilot is a team participant.
So, anybody but EMS may repair participants as nonparticipants? Wow, you must really REALLY hate EMS.

Amended, since JJ was confuzzled about something that I thought was common sense.
Actually I'm doing you a favor by pointing out a loophole in your rules before someone uses it in an actual event. Try to be more grateful, hmm?
added a new rule about crashing, because apparently I forgot about that.
Yes! Another loophole closed. Feels good, doesn't it?
A set of new temporary rules, that will helpfully make the event progress faster. If they do well, ill roll them into the main set.
t1) Once a location has been decided upon, you have 1 minute to show up in that sector. If you miss it, bring an ec89 - you are spectating.
to prevent team reshifts that happen over 10 minutes, delaying the fight.
T2) To be a captain, you must say you wish to be one. When there are more than [number of minimum teams] then we do the process of seeing who has the highest combat score and whatnot.
Again, minimize time eaten by team selection.
T3) pirates, greifers, ne'er do wells, you really need to say beforehand if you are participating.
I make this one because pandoram tried participating in TeamDX8, but without actually knowing what teamDX was. Thus, he immediately killed a person, was immediately killed by everyone, and then was very confused as to why I reprimanded him.
t4) when teams are being selected, SHUT UP! The only people who should be using sector chat are the captains as they pick their teams. If we ask for those who havent been selected, THEN speak, but only to answer.
Honestly, I feel pre-game chatter extends these things more than any other. Discord chatter is fine, but leave the text inflow clean.

these rules are in regards to use of the discord chat and being recorded, and dont affect the event itself. Felt I should mention them anyways.:
T5) people with audio problems (example: horrid echoing of other people, feedback, etc) will be muted promptly. Please learn how to prevent feedback and adjust your mic and speakers accordingly. You may wish to use a headset to mitigate problems.
T6) rare swearing is fine, but no repeated or blatant swearing in voice chat, please. Ill warn you ahead of time, repeat offenders wont be recorded.
T7) If you have to deal with people irl, be kind and mute yourself. We dont need to hear it, and its both discomforting to me and a potential violation of the other person's privacy.
Back to real teamDX rules:
T8) if you have connection issues before a match, or a history of issues, please excuse yourself. It can unbalance teams when a member drops right as a match begins.
T9) if you feel your captain picked a bad team, stick it out, dont run. Repeat runners can be temporarily banned from participation in the event; have faith, or just try to have fun.
^---if the teams are really badly imbalanced, present your case to the host. If you just dont like one of your team members, suck it up. The only divisions of TeamDX are between team bounderies.
T10) friendly fire may happen, but no explicit targetting of a freindly team member. Dont think we have had a problem yet, lets keep it that way.
