Balderson Victory: Ebb Tide for the Blue Wave?

by | Aug 25, 2018 | Articles, Politics, The Left

The Democratic Party has been boasting about a so-called blue wave, but the massive, crashing symbolic wall of water may turn out to be nothing be more than a couple of ripples across a small pond in an empty, desolate field.

Troy Balderson and President Trump

Yesterday, the Ohio voting commission declared that Troy Balderson, the Trump-backed GOP candidate for special election in Ohio’s 12th Congressional district, officially won his bid by 1,680 votes, a margin of 0.8%.

Balderson Versus the Democrats

In November, Balderson will face off against Democrat Danny O’Connor for a full term. Democrats see yesterday’s slim margin as a victory since Republicans have held the district for over 35 years and anti-Trumpers claim that the election was a referendum on President Trump, despite the area voting massively for the president in 2016.

The left and the likes of never-Trump Ohio Governor John Kasich are saying that this is a moral victory for Democrats. No, this is untrue. Balderson leans more towards being an establishment candidate than a “Trumplican.”

Will Balderson change his message to emulate Trump? He might want to. Apparently, there are over 170 registered voters in the 12th district who are 116 years old, so it will be interesting to see his strategy.

Blue Wave? Really?

On every cable news network and campaign rally, Democrats are promoting a “massive, blue wave.” Really? Throughout the year, there have been many special elections across portions of the country. The left has announced how important these events are, urging voters to send a message to Washington D.C.

Each time the left loses a ballot battle, the media covers for them and creates a new crisis to distract uninformed voters.

The Democratic Party has been making claims for a sweeping victory on improving the economy, national security, illegal immigration crime, stock market rising, and a stronger military, right? No. Not so much. They have offered no basis for winning, except for impeachment of the existing administration. Democrats will only tell the public that President Trump is mentally unfit, but cannot articulate why. The left’s policies cannot unseat Trump, so they campaign on baseless claims to create a soft coup.

As the economy continues to grow and more citizens find jobs and earn more money, there will be less chance of a blue wave materializing. Democrats offer no plan for the citizens who have found dignity in not living off government handouts.

Nothing to Offer

It is too late in the election cycle for the Democratic Party to present anything that counters what Trump has done. The left doesn’t offer solutions but tries to secure power by undoing the election of a legally elected president. The only message they have is based on name-calling, fake news and “impeach forty-five,” which is a losing strategy.

The Balderson victory is another hit against the left’s chance to regain control of Congress. The midterm elections are quickly approaching, and the left is caught flatfooted.

In actuality, the blue wave is just a ripple and conservative voters are the only ones who can keep it that way.
